Outdoor Education (ode)

Noah began 6th grade this year. Our middle school has a program called outdoor education. ODE happens in October every year. The 6th grade teachers take the entire class ( divided into 3 teams) on an overnight campout on a Thursday and Friday. They left the school at 8am on Thurs and returned to school on Friday at 3:30pm. They go to a Rotary Camp about 20 minutes away. Noah was lucky to have a perfect 2 days of fall weather. He had a great time getting away and making new friends from his 6th grade class. Darren and I volunteered on Thursday morning. We followed the kids around to 3 different activities. It was a lot of fun to see Noah interacting with the other kids.

Pedicures

I promised the girls we would get manicures and pedicures for their birthdays this year. We just didn't get around to it until the week before school started. Annabel thinks that this is about as good as it gets. Bea is just so happy to be included in big girl activities.

Annabel is so photogenic.

This was Bea's first pedicure. Her feet barely reached the water

Annabel also wanted to dye her hair blue this summer. We couln't find any dye that would do the job, so she had to make do with wash out colored gel.

Bea had her hair wrapped while we were in Myrtle Beach. Annabel had corn rows, but we had just taken them out the day before.

High School Musical

Last night, the girls and I attended the broadway version of HSM. Needless to say, they were very excited about seeing the show. We had front row balcony seats and as you can see from the pictures, they made signs to hold up. It was a really big deal for them to dress up like teenagers and look cool.

Is this worth my time?

I think I'm gonna jump on the blogging bandwagon. Not sure who my audience is or why I feel the need for a blog. All of our family and many friends are far away and we don't often get to see each other. So that makes for a good excuse. Probably, the main reason is that I take lots of pictures and I need to find more ways to display them.

Funny thing, though, I don't really enjoy writing. We shall see what becomes of this endeavor.
