My Christmas Cactus

is blooming--they all are, in fact. My Paperwhites have also been blooming, but I think I deleted that photo--I can't find it. ugh I really need a better way to organize my photos. What system do you use and how do you label your folders, date or something else?

I found it.

oh I love that last picture. My pictures are a mess. Maybe I should make it a goal to fix them this year.

Great depth of field with that Paperwhite shot!

I organize by date. For each day that I shoot at least one photo, I create a folder labeled by date (e.g. 01-02-2009). I put that folder in another folder labeled by year.

It's not the best method if you want to organize by activity or location but I seem to be able to find what I am looking for.

I love your Christmas cactus. My pictures are a mess, too. All over the place. My only "system" is by subject.

Beautiful paper whites! I don't think it's cold enough here yet! I organize my gazillion photos by topic, then sub-topic, and then by date. For example: Fishing, then under fishing there are years. And then under years are months. And in each month if there is a special trip, it gets its own folder with a specific name for that trip. Does that help?

Deborah,

Love the photos of your family! You look happy and healthy. Your flowers do, too! The only thing in my life that's organized IS my pictures. I file and subfile them by subject: Rhiannon's folder has school, sports, birthdays, etc. Under school would be each grade. Under each grade would be a folder for the class play(s), for the school violin recital, etc. You get the idea. It works for me.

Oh, thanks to your comment about wanting more photos, I added a slideshow. Haven't added more photos to it, but that's the next step. And, seeing your wonderful blog, I'm inspired to add more. Just haven't yet found the time. Wish me luck!

I love Christmas cacti.
I organize by date, but I don't suggest that.
