Let's get'em out alive!
Annabel performed with the 4th grade chorus last week. She was very excited, as this was their first performance.
Sneak peak of the hallway. We changed our color palette. Keep your fingers crossed for us.
I thought I would let you know that we haven't seen any more of Goth Girl, she was just entertaining herself for the afternoon. She is too social to ever really consider going Goth. We never know what she may do next or come up with, but she keeps us on our toes.

We finally finished Noah's room. The green is called asparagus.
The actual laying of the floor only took us a day.
One room down and the rest of the house to go.
We have had to redo our color scheme for the house, so once we make a final decision, we will paint the hall next and then do the floor.
If you are not familiar with Google Reader, now is the time. It is a program under "my account" on your google page. You list all the blogs that you read and follow, and the reader lists all the new posts for you. No more checking every single blog every day looking for updates. The google reader does it for you. Huge time saver for me!
Read more...Annabel came in and announced that she is going Goth. She is using words like black, death, misery, no hope and dark. When asked why, she says to freak me out, like Bailey did her parents.
She did just tell me that she wouldn't act Goth, Bailey (her cousin, who has now outgrown this stage) was nice and she would still be nice. She wants me to take her to Target to buy black nail polish and a leather choker collar. Help me, Rhonda.
We have thought for several years that perhaps we should sign Annabel up for Karate. So, when we discovered that there was a new dojo in our neighborhood, we decided the time was right. This little girl grins non-stop throughout the entire class. She is an awesome kicker, which should be no surprise to any one who knows her.
She gets to be loud as she screams out ti-ah. She burns energy, of which she has plenty. The best thing is she goes twice a week, any day she chooses, so it is very flexible with our schedule.
Here she is with her new white belt, ready to take on the world.
Today it reached 68 degrees and it is a different world from a month ago. Bea burst into the house saying she was going to walk Winnie, so I tagged along to enjoy our brief reprieve from Winter.
Bea and Winnie heading out.
Isn't she the cutest thing?
She likes to walk to the pond down the street and sit on the fence,
and watch the ducks.
Surprisingly, Winnie doesn't feel the need to chase the water fowl.
We walk around the pond and stop on the opposite side to watch even more ducks.
I had to get a picture of her tight grip on the leash. She is strong and does a great job controlling this 52# dog. Winnie never pulls her down and Bea is the alpha kid!

Warning: Not for the squeamish!
Annabel went to the dentist today to have four teeth pulled. She was a trooper, because I know she was terrified about going.
This is the last view of her pretty smile with all her teeth.
This is the anxious, let's-get-it-over look.
After 5 long years, we have begun making some changes to our home. We spent the last week painting Noah's room and pulling up the carpet and laying laminate flooring. This has been the reason for my lack of blogging.
The walls in this house are a blahish cream on dirty cream and have long needed color. In the last couple of years we painted the girl's rooms, but nothing else. I finally convinced Darren that we needed to pull up all the carpet in the house and get rid of it. Winnie is not conducive to carpet!
Noah and Darren did all the prep work.
Annabel and Bea put on the first coat of paint. Bea did all the cutting in that she could reach as well as two walls. Both girls are good painters.
Noah and Darren did the final coat and then Darren and I did the floor. Pictures will follow soon of this.
New Years 2008 |
We rang in the New Year with the Holmes, Tuttles, Sheltons and Talbots playing Rock Band. Darren's thumb shows how hard he can party!
